Restoring deliverability and automation reliability at scale

Client overview

Curative Mushrooms is a fast-growing e-commerce wellness brand with an education-first email community. Email drives product launches, customer education, and a meaningful share of revenue — so inbox placement isn't a "nice to have," it's core infrastructure.

The situation

In early 2024 — right as new bulk-sender requirements and DMARC expectations tightened across major mailbox providers — Curative Mushrooms was sending ~100,000 emails per day. Deliverability started slipping: key campaigns landed in spam, automations became inconsistent, and sender reputation trended in the wrong direction.

They didn't need new copy. They needed someone to stabilize the technical foundation, eliminate conflicts, and restore predictable inboxing at high volume.

What was broken

  • Authentication misalignment across sending domains (SPF / DKIM / DMARC)
  • Overlapping or conflicting automation logic (Klaviyo plus legacy tooling)
  • Segmentation and engagement issues impacting reputation
  • Monitoring existed, but wasn't configured or reviewed consistently — so problems weren't caught early

What we did

JD Tech ran a full technical audit of Curative's sending domains, mail streams, and lifecycle automations — then executed a stabilization plan focused on deliverability first, performance second.

  • Authentication alignment. Cleaned up and standardized SPF / DKIM / DMARC across domains and senders, with reporting visibility so issues could be seen and addressed quickly.
  • Automation integrity. Reviewed and corrected Klaviyo flows, triggers, and routing logic; removed conflicts caused by legacy sequences and duplicate triggers.
  • Reputation protection. Implemented a controlled warm-up and throttling approach, list hygiene improvements, and engagement-based sending to protect sender reputation while volume stayed high.
  • Monitoring and visibility. Tightened deliverability monitoring and ongoing review so problems were measurable, not anecdotal.

Results

  • Within ~3 weeks: inbox placement stabilized and became reliable and repeatable across campaigns and automations
  • Within ~1.5 months: sender reputation was fully restored and performance normalized
